About Us

After spending over 20 years working hands-on in the fire alarm industry, I moved into the design side of the business. My first design role was with a small firm, where I often found myself being the last one in the office most nights. Once I got into the flow of laying out complex fire alarm systems, time disappeared. I would routinely set alarms to remind myself to leave so I could take care of my family responsibilities. That was when I knew I had found what I truly enjoy doing.

Since then, I have had the chance to work in both the private and public sectors, from Fortune 100 corporations to family-owned companies. Along the way, I’ve worked with Edwards, Johnson Controls, Potter, Siemens, and several Honeywell systems. My background is a mix of academic training and professional certifications that, combined, give me a unique perspective on life safety design.

Through ESR Fire Protection Design, I’ve been able to take on roles in project management, consulting, sales engineering, design, and construction quality assurance. I’ve been involved in every stage of the design process, from early schematic and design drawings through full construction documents and managing the commissioning process. No matter the project, I take pride in producing shop-level submittal drawings that are detailed, cost-effective, and easy for installers to follow in the field.
